If you’re going to swish cocoanut oil around in your mouth, you’re going to want to know what the benefits of oil pulling are, right? That’s what I talk about in the video above.
I had the best dental check-up ever after only two weeks of oil pulling, which for me proves all the benefits of oil pulling that drew me to the practice. It helps prevent cavities and gum disease and promotes good dental health. This ancient Ayurvedic practice has been used for 5,000 years to “pull” bacteria, parasites and other toxins from your teeth and mucus membranes by simply swishing a tablespoon of high quality oil in your mouth for 20 – 30 minutes once or twice a day.
According to Ayurveda, your tongue is connected to organ meridians, so tongue health is very important to your overall health, both in treating and preventing illness. In addition, as you pull the oil through your teeth and around your mouth, your tongue is able to absorb all the nutrients from the oil. Sesame oil, for example, has antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties as well as being rich in omega-3 fatty acids, iron, calcium, magnesium, copper and phosphorus and vitamins A, B and E.
Oil Pulling Directions
As soon as you wake up, before you eat, drink or brush your teeth, put a tablespoon of cold pressed oil in your mouth. Try sesame, cocoanut or sunflower oil, or alternate them.
Swish the oil around in your mouth, pulling it through your teeth and around all surfaces of your mouth.
Don`t swallow the oil! When the time is up, spit the oil into the garbage to avoid clogging your plumbing.
After you spit, rinse your mouth with a baking soda and water mix, then brush with natural toothpaste. And you’re done! Remember to use this technique daily to really experience the benefits of oil pulling! Once you give it a go, let us know how you make out!

When you learn Reiki Second Degree you can give distant treatments, and treat mental or emotional problems. This means you can be anywhere in the world and still connect with your loved one through Reiki.
For example, I sent distant Reiki to both my daughters and daughter-in-law when they were in labor. As I projected the energy, I held an image of them smiling, holding their babies and saying how easy and peaceful the birth had been. Both had successful, non-medicated home-births, and were grateful for the comfort Reiki gave them. I’ve also used it to send healing to my own Mother who lives at the other end of the country!

The best stress relief activities work better when you don’t have ANTs (automatic negative thoughts). So how do you get rid of them? Squash them like a bug! But ANTS, like the pests they’re named for, are tricky buggers; sneaky, good hiders, and persistent as all get out. The first step in getting rid of them is to identify them. This can be tricky, they have a way of crawling around in our minds without our even noticing they’re there. They blend in, becoming part of the landscape of our minds.
