Coping With Stress; Neck Stress
Coping with Stress; neck stress can cause a great deal of pain which is easily relieved. Stress manifests physically in many ways, and it’s interesting how literal this can be. Take neck pain for example. Tension-causing pain often appears when someone is literally being ‘a pain in the neck’.
If someone immediately leaped to mind when you read this, the fastest way to eliminate the neck pain would be to resolve the issue.
In the meantime, here are some yoga exercises to relieve the pain.
Begin standing as comfortably as possible. Gently look over your right shoulder, feeling the left side of your neck stretch and relax. Now switch sides. Try to use full range of motion without straining. Always listen to your body! Do this a few times.
Now tip your right ear toward your right shoulder. Breathe deeply, relaxing as much as you can. Then bring your head center, and gently tip your left ear toward your left shoulder.
Repeat this several times each side, then take your chin toward your chest. Hold for a breath or two, bring your head center, then tilt your head up toward the sky. Repeat several times.
Now that you’ve begun loosening up, try making gentle neck circles. Keep this slow and controlled. Make a few circles one direction, then the other.
Finish by gently massaging the base of your neck
